Vending Break-ins Fall Off At University Of Las Vegas

After two semesters of repeated vending machine break-ins, police say the crime has reached an all-time low, according to The Rebel Yell, the student newspaper at The University of Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UNLV Department of Public Safety Crime Analysis Program Supervisor Jim Morrow said the last reported break-in occurred June 22.

According to UNLV DPS records, there were 41 break-ins during the spring 2005 semester. In the fall 2005 semester there were only 10.

During the spring 2005 semester, it appeared that most break-ins occurred in high-traffic areas.
